Nat|f|Use – “Canyon Pink” Living Table

The table top is made from an uneven slab of pink onyx, recomposed to form a right-angled geometrical shape with the aid of cream and fluo pink resin extensions of the same thickness as the stone and similar consistency, in this case the extension is focused in the middle of the table top. The symbiosis between marble (natural) and resin (synthetic) is achieved through the graft, with the scar left intentionally visible where the two materials join: the black grid of the resin marks an underlying boundary, a reminder of the form of the original slab. The table top lays on a modified version of the steel structures normally used to support slabs. Canyon Table is not just a design table, it is a piece of art unique in form, size and colours. Made from onyx, a semiprecious material that requires all craftsmen’s experience, knowledge and vast technique. A table that represents a blend of energy and fragility, given strength and toughness by its skilful workmanship, which makes it rare and precious.
