Davide Marazzi
Contemporaneity in all its highest forms and manifestations from art to technology and the world in all its variations, contrasts and cultural specifics are all sources for inspiration for Davide Marazzi. His open approach to design brings together a balanced mix of vision and experimentation, responsibility and rigour providing responses that however unconventional they may be are always specific and well-rooted in reality. Born in Mirandola (MO) in 1974, after studying Environmental Physics, in 2000 he graduated in Architecture with Honours at the Milan Polytechnic. His early professional experience was in the studio of Cino Zucchi in Milan (1999-2001) and Guido Canali in Parma (2001-2004) where he had the opportunity to address both the overall scale of the city and architecture as well as finer details. In 2004 he established his own practice. Marazzi Architetti works at various scales of design ,from landscape and town planning to architecture and interior design: architectural design is interpreted as a process of research aimed at creating unique places and buildings in which life becomes a rich and engaging experience.
Consistency, clarity, identity and character are the elements that distinguish the work of the practice; accuracy, technical and technological expertise and control of the process are the distinguishing features of his working method. A strong propensity to customised solutions and meticulous attention to detail has in recent years led the studio to also become involved in product design; their most notable experiences include a collection of floors in inlaid wood, light fittings and a suspended table in steel. Their work are been presented in national and international exhibitions and published in specialist magazines. Awards include the MIPIM Award 2011, The Plan Award 2016, the Premio Selinunte 2016.
