Bruno Tarabella
Bruno Tarabella was born in Pietrasanta, Versilia, graduated in the same city from the Istituto Statale d’Arte Stagio Stagi. Falling in love with design during his final year, he decided to enroll at the University of Florence, specifically in the Industrial Design program with a focus on Product Design.
During his university years, he participated in various workshops with companies such as Piquadro, BPT Group (Came S.p.A.), and the Maison Giuliano Fujiwara. The outcomes of these experiences include: the “Hug Bag” project, featured in the book “La borsa trasformabile, 30 progetti innovativi di borse business” and presented at the event “The Convertible Bag” organized by Piquadro during the 2008 Fuorisalone; the “Cubo” project, a home automation terminal, exhibited in 2011 at the “Ecocentrica” exhibition held in La Spezia; and the “Loto Armchair” project, published in the book “Prodotti e complementi per l’arredo di alta gamma. Un’esperienza progettuale per Giuliano Fujiwara.”
Also during his university years, he interned at the Viareggio-based studio Gum Design. He graduated with top honors and distinction, with an experimental and research thesis titled “Archi di Tempo wall clock.”
In 2021, the “Splash” vase, designed for Up Group, was selected by Artemest for the exhibition-event AQVA, held in the splendid setting of the Senato Hotel Milano during the Fuorisalone. In 2024, the freestanding washbasin “Juno,” designed for Rapsel, was longlisted for the Archiproducts Design Awards.
“Moving stubbornly and against the tide,” he aspires to design and surprise, aiming to steer and influence the creative process of project synthesis, opening up new languages of meaning in Design.
