Budri presents ARC_HIVE: ten chapters, one timeline

Milan, april 2026 – On the occasion of the 2026 Fuorisalone, Budri presents Arc_Hive, a museum installation that retraces the ten collections designed from 2009 to 2024 by Patricia Urquiola for Budri.

Within the spaces of the Foro Buonaparte showroom in Milan, takes shape a reflection creativity related to time, in contemporary design. In a world where everything accelerates and the system demands continuous innovation, Arc_Hive proposes a moment of observation and reinterpretation: an invitation to pause, to look deeper, to recognize the value of research and experimentation.

The project has its roots in the first collaboration between Budri and Patricia Urquiola: Macrosterias, a project that marked a turning point for the company, whose core business at the time was classical inlay work. Born as a “leap into the dark”, Macrosterias introduced a digital-biological microcosm into the world of artistic inlay, transforming the stone surface into a three-dimensional landscape of patterns, organic geometries and vibrant colours. Marble became a carpet, a tropical mat, a vertical covering capable of surprising with its depth and visual lightness.

ARC_HIVE brings together some of the most iconic pieces born from this creative dialogue, including the large “tropical mat” from the Macrosterias collection: an eleven-meter marble carpet and a five-meter-high wall covering welcome visitors with a striking visual impact.

The installation highlights Budri’s constant experimentation, combining marble with wood, glass, resins, and other materials in innovative forms. Marble is thus transformed from a classic, rigid material into a dynamic, narrative, and surprising surface. The museum-style and minimalist exhibition features 20 products from several historic collections of the brand; the journey is completed by four decorative surfaces from the Papiro, Architexture, Nat|f|Use, and Earthquake collections.
